What do we do with all of that?

2 Corinthians 1:20

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

The promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen… through us [5 God references]

• He will cause all to come to bear… from Him… through Him… to you… for you!
• What do we do with all of that?
• Can I trust this?

1 Kings 8

Character is something that will hold up… God’s character will stand up [under your wobbly ladders]

2 Peter 3:9

Titus 1:2

‘He does not lie’

Hebrews 10:23

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

‘He is faithful that promised’

A culture of faith built upon confidence [in that which is] unseen… We are trying to build a culture of faith.

We have a culture of fears [come from this]

Hebrews 11:11

By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.

2 Peter 1:4

…by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

‘Be takers of the divine nature…’ escape the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Move from [the nature] of where you were to the culture of where He is.

• There is a world
• It is corrupt
• We need to escape

We will stand up as the ‘city on the hill’.

Don’t be occupied by your own distresses… shine your light and be a partaker of the Divine nature.

• Mount Gerazin and Mount Ebal
• Ebal… bald,rocky, hard
• Gerazin… green and flourishing [full] with the promise of God

Hebrews 11:1-3

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

• The promises come from Him… established for us if we have the faith to receive them.
• You don’t see Him
• He said it
•  You can enjoy it
• This is a model [God gave us… see Genesis 1]
• Employ the words of victory backed up by [the word of God] experiences…

If you believe [then] you will see.

Romans 1:17

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."

Colossians 2:20

Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations…

Matthew 23:23

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone…”

• Weighty = covenanted
• Justice = righteousness of God

Hebrews 4:1-2

Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

‘God wants you to rest’

• No trust… no rest!!!
• Mix faith with practical understanding so that [it] will work for you!
• Mix the [right] actions and the [right] attitude!
• Hope in God never makes you ashamed!

You must hear the word of God. Faith comes by hearing… and hearing by the word of God!

• Don’t get disconnected; you will get ‘whacked’.

God wants you to miss faith with the word of God.

Faith is the capacity to believe a God that you cannot see and trusting that His word will work on the things that you can see!

Believe and trust that His word will hold the text for you… He cannot fail!

Acts 17:23

People wrestling to find God. Paul [on Mars Hill]… the unknown God. I have a God that you can know! This God that we know… it is in Him that we live [and] move [and] have our being.
