I have the POWER!!!

OK all you TV experts - remember the superhero He-Man? Remember his famous saying as he wielded his mighty sword? What was it he said? Oh yes...I HAVE THE POWER!

Isn't is funny how art, even if it is cartoon art, imitates life? I just finished listening to a very compelling teaching by Beth Jones from Kalamazoo, MI on the power we've been given over the devil. She said that not only do we need to take everything the Lord gives us to be prepared, but we need to put on His armor so we're protected from the wiles of the devil.

Ephesians 6:10-18 tells about the pieces that make up the armor of God, but I want to direct you to a few specific elements.

First, in verse 10, is tells us to "be strong in the Lord and His great power." Sound familiar? If we're believers in Jesus, and His Spirit lives within us, we've got that same power, don't we?

I HAVE THE POWER! 

Next, in verse 12, it describes who we're fighting. It's not your average, every day villain, but evil powers of darkness and spirits. But remember...

I HAVE THE POWER!

Finally, in verses 16-18, we're told in ALL circumstances to arm ourselves - with the shield of faith, believing God's Word is true and puts a forcefield around us to protect us from the firey darts of the enemy;  and like any good soldier, super hero or warrior, we need a helmet. Ours is of salvation which not only shows we're saved, but that the helmet can save us. We also need a sword and ours happens to be the Word of God that we speak. Remember, life & death are in the power of the tongue and guess what...

I HAVE THE POWER!

If you're feeling weak & vulnerable, you can have the power, too. Just pray for God to show you the way through & around the challenges you may be facing. If you trust in Him, give your heart to Him & ask Him to forgive you. you, too, can have His awesome & mighty power.
