About our Pastor...Brief History of the Ministry

Pastor Wendell Williams has felt the Spirit of the Lord speaking to him about his calling. He was told early in life that his destiny was to be a preacher.  Like many of us, he initially went his own way – attending college at Southern Utah State, joining the Navy and being stationed in Boston.  Through the blessing and grace of Jesus Christ, Wendell received Christ as his Lord and Savior, was born again and eventually answered God’s call upon his life for ministry.

Pastor Wendell and his wife, Dona, attended Rhema Bible Training Center under the ministry of Kenneth E. Hagin, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He completed the program in Pastoral Administration in 1993 and moved his family back to upstate New York, where he accepted a position as Associate Pastor in a local church.

Again, following the call of God, Pastor Wendell & Dona founded Good Ground Ministries International, Inc., in August of 1998.  Later that year, in December of 1998, they pioneered Good Ground Family Church, in Troy, NY.

Though the path has been difficult and there have been a number of times where they might have given up, Pastor, Dona and their 3, now adult children, believe that through Christ, “All things are possible” and that we can all be used by God, for His glory, to be a blessing to a world that desperately needs Him.
