Community
Good Ground Family Church is not only diverse inside, but the church sits at the juncture of several socio-economically diverse neighborhoods. We are blessed by the many "nations, tribes and tongues" that worship here and enjoy interacting with our local community.
Some of our community outreaches include:
- Our Community Meal is a nutritious meal prepared for all in the community who would like to break bread with us. This meal is served each Friday at 4:30PM. There is no income criteria to come, dine and fellowship with us. As the economic situation of our nation continues to remain unstable, we have seen an increasing and steady flow of individuals seeking assistance through our resources. It is a privilege to serve those in need.
- Every week Panera's Bread donates a days worth of bread for us to package and give away free. We are also blessed to receive occasional donations of bread and milk from our local Stewart’s Shops. Bread Giveaway takes place on Mondays from 12 - 2 p.m., Wednesdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and Fridays from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
- Salvation Army Food Pantry is now based out of Good Ground Family Church. They are here on Tuesday & Thursday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- Other outreaches include, summertime Free Car Washes, Evangelism in the Parks, Parson's Child and Family Center, Nursing Home Ministry, Small Group Ministry Development, Youth Ministry, Thanksgiving Baskets, Toys for Tots, and Christmas Caroling. Good Ground Family Church also co labors and contributes to many local ministries along with co-laboring with other area Churches.
- Good Ground also takes an active part working with the local school districts, area civic groups and city government.
